JoAnn for District 3 Commissioner The Difference is Results.
JoAnn Can! Plan.
Economic Development
We need more than a County Commissioner. We need an economic development cheerleader. We need someone who will work EVERYDAY to bring new, high-paying jobs to District 3 and Cobb County. I will use my experience as a past Board member of the Development Authority of Cobb County and the Northeast Cobb Business Association to do just that.
Public Safety & Quality of Life
Due to visionary planning in the past, we enjoy a stellar quality of life in Cobb County. But, as with everything, we are facing many challenges in regards to issues that directly affect our quality of life. When elected, I promise I will fight to protect our quality of life and make it even better. The largest factor in our quality of life is the safety of our families. As the past Chair of the Cobb Neighborhood Safety Commission, her work on the Police Email Notification System, and through countless public safety fundraising efforts, JoAnn has played a vital role in making our county safer, and will do even more on the Commission.
Lower Taxes & Less Spending
Families, businesses, and governments are feeling the effects of a struggling economy. Our families are cutting back, businesses are laying employees off and government revenues are down. In times of financial crisis, it is vital that the people of Cobb County continue to have a strong fiscal conservative on the county commission. We need a leader who will spend taxpayer money wisely and keep our taxes low.
While our neighbors are losing their jobs and families are having trouble making ends meet, county governments, around the state are trying to raise taxes on homeowners and businesses instead of making tough decisions and slashing spending. You have my word, that as your County Commissioner, I will not support any tax increases.
Transportation
Cobb like the rest of Metro-Atlanta is in desperate need of innovative transportation solutions to reduce traffic congestion and improve mobility. I understand that every minute you spend stuck traffic is one less minute you spend with your family or building a business or enjoying other aspects of your life. On the Commission, I will work to find solutions to reduce congestion, whether it’s new roads or other alternatives. And I will work with State Legislators and the ARC to ensure we receive vital transportation funding.
